Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, beat the egg and add the milk, vanilla extract, and honey or maple syrup. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Combine the Ingredients:
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.
  4. Add Melted Butter:
